General Work Description: The work to be done, in general, consists of street overlay, asphalt rubber cape seals and slurry micro-surfacing, delivering advance public notifications, implementing traffic controls, removing weeds from the roadway, removing and replacing traffic striping, markings, and other related work indicated and required by the plans, Standard Specifications, and these special provisions. The City's remedies for the Contractor's failure to perform include, but are not limited to, an assessment of Liquidated Damages of no more than $1,000 per day for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the work in accordance with California Government Code Section 53069.85 and the Contract Documents, and/or obtaining or providing for substitute performance in accordance with the Contract Documents PREVAILING WAGES : The city has obtained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general rate for holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the Work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of worker needed to perform the project. The Contractor shall possess a Class A and/or C-12 California contractor's license at the time this contract is awarded.
