Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Clermont, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
Project Scope The City of Clermont is accepting quotes from qualified roof contractors to replace the maintenance shed roof at Palatlakaha Park located at 1250 12th Street, Clermont, FL 34711. The estimated roof area is 1259 Sq./Ft. All items purchased for this project must comply with all government standards including, but not limited to, those issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Institute of Occupational Safety Hazards (NIOSH), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The successful respondent must furnish all labor and materials necessary for satisfactory performance. When equipment and materials are not specifically identified, such equipment and materials must be of a suitable type and grade for the purpose. All equipment, material, and workmanship are subject to the inspection and approval of the Project Manager. 3.2. Removal and Preparation Respondents are responsible for making onsite measurements to validate the correct square footage for their response. The successful respondent must protect the roof watertight at all times during the work to protect the building interior. Protect surrounding surfaces against damage from roofing work. Install all products and materials in strict accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Removal of the existing roofing system in preparation for a new roof system. Removal of any compromised underlayment product. Remove all roof caps and flashings. At penetrations, remove all existing flashings, including lead, asphalt, mastic, etc. At walls, curbs, and other vertical and sloped surfaces, metal counter flashings. Remove mineral-surfaced and coated flashings; remove excessive asphalt to provide a smooth, sound surface for new flashings. Remove fasteners, strips, blocking, and roof drains and accessories as needed. Repair and patch the existing underlayment deck surface to provide a smooth working surface for the new roof system. Dispose of all materials properly. Provide temporary protective sheeting over uncovered deck surfaces. Provide for surface drainage from sheeting to existing drainage facilities. 3.3. Roof Repair Provide materials, labor, and equipment for existing roof replacement as described herein or as necessary to complete the work. Remove all existing roofing down to the deck surface. Install new drip edge on all lower roof lines. Install all new ridge caps with composition shingles. Install all-new continuous ridge vent shingle over style. Install synthetic roofing underlayment "double layer" on the deck surface. Install new asphalt shingles with universal starter course. Remove and replace any damaged fascia and trim boards and replace with new material. Install all new pipe flange boots (if needed). Install a new roof in strict accordance with the manufacturer's specifications to ensure that there will be no issues with the manufacturer if a warranty claim ever needed to be made. Re-flash any chimneys or penetrations to the roof surface. Tarps must be used around all perimeters to preserve siding, flowers, and landscape. A nail magnet will be used around all perimeters to pick up any nails from old roofing removal All possible carpentry/frame damage that is exposed when stripping the roof must be immediately brought to the City's Project Manager's attention. Provide a price per sheet or board compatible with the existing underlayment that may need to be replaced. Nail all shingles per Florida high wind code and provide fungus guards to all shingles. Perform all work as per manufacturer's specifications and local building codes. Clean the job thoroughly upon completing the work. 3.4. Warranty The successful respondent must provide a transferable five (5) year warranty on workmanship for the roof replacement and related work including materials and labor. Defects will be made good, promptly, within the warranty period and such defects will include, but are not restricted to, leakage, deformation, loosening, and splitting of roofing materials. In addition to the above, the successful respondent must provide a manufacturer's warranty on the shingles. 3.5. Final Repair and Clean-Up Thoroughly examine surrounding grounds for nails and debris. Sweep surrounding sodded areas with magnetic brooms to collect any remaining nails and screws. Repair any areas of the site damaged as a result of the work. Remove surplus material, equipment, and debris from the site. Leave the site clean and tidy. At the end of the work day, the site must be left in a condition to keep the facility completely safe and operational the next morning Question Deadline:June 5, 2023, 12:30pm
