As of January 16, 2025, an engineer has been selected and this project is in the design phase. It is anticipated bidding will commence mid to late 2023 with construction starting early to mid 2027. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The project scope includes rehabilitation of runway and taxiway pavement and performing miscellaneous improvements, including but not limited to electrical and navigational aid work, adjustments to safety area grades, runway width adjustment, etc. on Runways 4L-22R, 4R-22L and 11-29 at Kalaeloa Airport. All connecting Taxiways shall also be adjusted as necessary to stay in compliance with FAA regulations. This work includes design development, producing all plans, drawings and specifications, construction safety and phasing plans (CSPP); participate in Safety Risk Assessment (SRA) meetings; construction administration support including review of submittals, construction schedules, response(s) to Requests for Information (RFI's), post construction support by providing asbuilt plans and any work necessary to ensure completion of the design. The estimated construction cost is $100,000,000.
