The Clarke County Purchasing Office, on behalf of the Clarke County Parks and Recreation Department, is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified vendors that are qualified and capable of renovating and repairing the swimming pool in Chet Hobert Park in Berryville, VA as specified in this Request for Proposals. 1. Close the wading pool. The vendor's proposed method could involve filling in the wading pool or part of the wading pool with concrete. The vendor's proposed method could involve transforming all or part of the existing wading pool space into becoming part of the zero-entry access into the large swimming pool. 2. Remove and dispose of the section of fence between the swimming pool and wading pool. 3. Design and install a zero-entry access into the swimming pool that is graded properly to ensure that it meets all State Pool Standards and Regulations. 4. Design and install all necessary handrails to ensure compliance with all State Pool Standards and Regulations. 5. Design and install all necessary piping, pumps, skimmers, filters, and other plumbing fixtures/systems needed to ensure compliance with all State Standards and Regulations. Please note that the existing wading pool has plumbing features that enable it to be used safely. Vendors should provide information in their proposals that explain what will be done with this piping/plumbing/etc as part of their plan to close the wading pool and create a zeroentry access into the main swimming pool. 6. When the selected vendor completes the work, the vendor would direct the Clarke County Maintenance Director on when to fill the pool with water. After filling the pool with water, the selected vendor will be responsible for inspecting the water and newly installed equipment to ensure that it is ready for opening day of the 2024 pool season, which is likely going to be May 25, 2024. 7. The selected vendor shall provide at least a one-year warranty that includes all equipment and labor. The selected vendor will be able to start work on September5, 2023. The selected vendor must have the work completed by May 1, 2024. All questions should be done in writing via email (purchasing@clarkecounty.gov) to Mr. Mike Legge, Purchasing Manager.
