Auburn Street over Kettle Brook (Bridge Preservation) and requires all work necessary or proper for or incidental to this project including providing all necessary supervisors, personnel, equipment, and materials. SCOPE OF WORK : All work under this contract shall be done in conformance with the Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges dated 2023 and the latest Interim Supplemental Specifications; the 2017 Construction Standard Details, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the latest Traffic Management Plans and Detail Drawings (as relates to the Pavement Markings details only); the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings; the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Massachusetts Amendments and the Standard Municipal Traffic Code; the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; the latest edition of American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans and these Project Specifications. The work at Bridge No. L-06-012 includes replacement of the existing bridge guardrail system. The work involves removal of the existing railing as well as a portion of the existing spandrel walls. New cast in place concrete moment slabs and parapet walls shall be constructed and modified steel thrie beam bridge railings installed along the tops of both parapets. Work under this Contract also includes minor approach roadway work to the limits shown on the Plans including, but not limited to, profile adjustments, reconstruction of the existing roadway with placement of new asphalt pavement structures, highway guardrail installation, and other safety elements as shown on the plans. During construction, the structure shall be closed, and all traffic will be detoured. No work will occur in the Kettle Brook. The contractor shall notify the town prior to beginning any work. The Contractor shall satisfy themselves by their own investigation and research regarding conditions and measurements affecting the work to be done and shall make their bid in sole reliance thereon. The term "Engineer" in this Contract shall refer to the Town of Leicester Highway Superintendent or his/her designated representative.
