Site work and renovation of a civil project in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel.
Veteran's Memorial Park is located in the Town of Hamilton, La Crosse County. The park has a spring feed pond and the water level is controlled by a vertical corrugated metal pipe riser with a stop log channels in the riser. The control structure draws water from the bottom of the pond via a 15" intake corrugated metal pipe. The discharge pipe to the La Crosse River is also a 15" corrugated metal pipe with a 15" cast iron flapper valve. A secondary spill way in the berm between the pond and the river was also observed. The pond will be drained and a temporary bypass culvert will be installed. Dewatering the area around the control structure will be required and the control structure will be removed and replaced. Clearing and grubbing will also be required.
