The City of Fredericksburg's Shop and Garage building in the Fredericksburg Battlefield Industrial Park houses many Public Works functions, including traffic engineering, street maintenance, drainage, streetlights, snow removal, street sanitation, refuse and recycling collection, and urban forestry. Roof Replacement: The roof for the City Shop complex's main building is in need of replacement. Despite various repairs, the roof has developed additional leaks and has exceeded its expected service life. Electrical panel replacement: The panels are obsolete and are no longer manufactured. A replacement for the main breaker will require weeks to find a replacement. It is recommended to replace and upgrade the electrical panels in this facility. HVAC Replacement: The City Shop complex's main building HVAC unit is nearing the end of its useful service life and replacement is recommended. Restrooms Renovation: The City Shop main building's restrooms are in need of a full renovation replacement; these upgrades will maintain ADA compliance and address cosmetic needs. Fiscal year 2024-2028 As of July 7, 2023 construction is expected in the FY2024-2027 *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
