With the recent loss of the Broward Outdoor Recreation Complex, the university has a growing gap in outdoor recreational programming space vs current and future student needs. This project will serve to address the significant reduction in outdoor recreation space that has occurred on our campus over the past ten years. This includes the loss of 22 tennis courts, 3 sand volleyball courts, 4 outdoor basketball courts, and a skate park. This project will also allow us to serve new/emerging recreational and wellbeing needs of our students. The University of Florida Board of Trustees announces that Professional Services in the discipline of landscape architecture will be required for the project listed below:Project: UF-681, Flavet Outdoor Recreational Complex (UF Campus, Gainesville, FL).The project consists of a new outdoor recreational complex and support facilities to address the significant reduction in outdoor recreation space that has occurred on the main UF campus over the past ten years. The estimated construction budget is approximately $4,931,000, including recreational amenities, furnishings, utility infrastructure, lighting, landscape, hardscape, stormwater improvements, and restroom facilities. The project will be delivered using the Construction Manager At-Risk method and construction shall end by August 2025. SITES Gold certification by the GBCI (Green Business Certification Inc.) is mandatory. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
