The City of Watauga is requesting qualifications from qualified firms to provide services to locate every water meter box within the City and provide the X, Y, Z coordinates of each. The material for each water service line both the public and private side will be identified in accordance with 40 CFR 141.84. It is estimated this effort will include approximately 8,341 water meters (some located in the same box). The awarded firm shall possess a proven track record of using innovative approaches to providing goods and services that represent the best value to their clients. The awarded firm shall have the ability to accomplish all aspects of the requested services and should be able to provide innovative methods to deal with municipal challenges and cost effective measures. The City of Watauga has taken many steps to provide quality water to the citizens. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) federally regulates the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) laws under the Safe Drinking Water Act (40 CFR Part 141 Subpart I), but it is the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) who administers the program locally in the state (Texas Administrative Code 290.117).
