This project will construct new sections of a bulkhead retaining structure at three locations near the addresses of (4956, 5166, and 5259) Medina Road to restore lateral support to the street, approximately 270 linear feet total and 5 to 9 feet in height. The bulkhead lengths are 110, 64, and 95 linear feet at 4956, 5166, and 5259 Medina Road, respectively. The new bulkheads consist of a combination of steel vertical soldier beams, precast concrete lagging panels, cast-in-place concrete retaining walls, caisson piles, and a grade beam. The existing asphalt pavement, concrete curb, and gutter will be removed and reconstructed. A portion of the existing timber bulkhead will be removed and disposed. New metal beam guardrail, pedestrian handrail, and hydroseed will be installed. Construction work shall commence at the most critical site, 5259 Medina Road, first. A "Bid Bond" is not required. The successful bidder shall provide two good and sufficient surety bonds. The "Payment Bond" and "Performance Bond" shall each be for not less than 100 percent of the Task Bid Price.
