VTA seeks proposals from qualified firms to provide parking management services. For its facility at 501 Cinnabar Street in San Jose, CA for Diridon Station while while VTAs BART Silicon Valley Extension is under construction. Valley Transit Authority (VTA) has leased the warehouse building at 501 Cinnabar Street in San Jose, CA for the purposes of providing parking for Diridon Station while VTAs BART Silicon Valley Extension Phase II project (Project) is under construction which removes parking spaces from service near Santa Clara and Cahill Streets. VTA is obligated pursuant to Project approvals to provide 450 replacement parking spaces to offset a larger number of spaces near the Diridon Caltrain station that will be lost due to Project construction. VTA has leased the 501 Cinnabar Street location to provide this replacement parking and is currently making improvements for adaptive reuse of it for an indoor parking facility. The improvements to the building are projected to be completed by year-end in order for the new parking facility to open by the beginning of January 2024. The building will mostly include self-parking spaces; however, a number of tandem and triple spaces are being provided to meet the 450 space requirement, which generates the requirement to park these cars in a valet assist format.
