The City of Raleigh is seeking one or more qualified firm(s) with which to contract for the following services:
The City of Raleigh Transportation Department invites qualified firms to submit qualifications to provide engineering services for designs of new and/or modifications to existing signalized
intersections. A detailed breakdown of the scope of services requested is below and may include the following work:
- Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions (i.e., sidewalk data, lane widths, cross-section characteristics, and other pertinent information germane to the installation of traffic signals).
- Provide the City Plan of Records (POR) for changes that do not require new signal plans
- Provide the City with a sealed copy (digital and hard copy) of standard drawings including traffic signal design and operation, electrical layout, fiber splice detail. These plans may be a result of the addition of pedestrian signals, flashing yellow
arrow signal heads, stop bar relocation, bicycle lane addition, channelization changes, addition of Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS), Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI), Transit Signal Priority (TSP) upgrades, changes in signal operation
and electrical details due to firmware upgrades, etc.
- Signal plans may include addition of or upgrades to metal strain poles or metal mast arms
- The traffic signal plans must be suitable and include NCDOT review and approval, if applicable.
- Prepare final contract documents and technical specifications as needed. Documents shall be in conformance with standard City of Raleigh format. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is for the City of Raleigh Transportation Department to secure up to two (2) qualified firms to provide the
professional services identified above. The city may elect to secure fewer/more firms based on the number of firms qualified to provide the professional services identified
above. The professional engineering services required for these types of projects would be an on call as needed basis for four years from the date of executed
contract(s). The total amount for this contract will be $260,000 divided between the number of firms selected. Master Agreements will be set up on a not to excess basis
with individual scope of works for each project(s). Cost for each task/project will be set based on the scope of work for the particular project/task. Deadline for written questions : June 29, 2023
