The purpose of this Request for Quotes (RFQ) is to invite submissions from qualified, professional firms to provide a bid, in compliance with the Terms and Conditions, Specifications, Terms of Reference and Appendices stated herein, for the re-surfacing of approximately 130 metres of street between Civic 33 on Bleakney Road and the intersection of Bleakney Road and Briarcroft Street in the Town of Salisbury. In general, the work includes, but may not be limited to, pulverizing the existing street, grading the base, and re-surfacing with asphalt as per municipal specifications. The scope of work under this contract includes, but is not limited to: Pulverizing approximately 130 metres in length of existing roadway, as per municipal specifications (see Section 13.0 for pulverization specifications); Re-surfacing of approximately 130 metres in length, 6.4 metres width of asphalt, as per municipal specifications (see Section 10.0 for re-surfacing specifications). Addition of approximately 0.5 metres width of 0-31.5mm crushed rock material to road shoulders One-lane traffic is to be kept open at all times. Two-lane traffic is to be restored at the end of the work day. Signage is to be installed prior to the start of construction and in accordance with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure specifications (latest version). A traffic safety plan must be provided by the contractor prior to construction and approved by the Town. Clean-up is to be done daily. Dust is to be controlled with water as required, or as directed by the Town. Driveways are to be accessible at the end of each working day unless otherwise approved by the Town.
