Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gilbert, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

This project consists of replacing pavement and related utilities along Main Street, from 1st Street to north of 2nd Street. The project includes 9-inch HMA pavement with PCC curb and gutter, modified subbase, sanitary sewer with manholes, storm sewer with manholes and intakes, water main (trenched and trenchless) with valves and hydrants, sanitary service restoration, water service restoration, sidewalk removal and replacement, brick/paver sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, erosion control, and seeding. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Owner and which shall guarantee a faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the Owner from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvements constructed for a period of two (2) years after completion and acceptance by the Owner. A pre-bid conference will not be held for the Project. The work under the proposed contract shall commence within thirty (30) days of the written Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued July 10, 2023. All work shall be substantially completed by June 28, 2024, and with final completion by August 2, 2024, subject to any changes granted by the Owner. The work for Milestone 1 - Stage 1 Utility and Roadway Pavement Installation may begin once the Notice to Proceed has been issued. No work shall be allowed on the project between September 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023. If the utility and roadway pavement within these limits is started, but not completed, the Contractor shall place temporary granular surfacing and restore the roadway to drivable conditions and reopen the roadway on or before September 1, 2023. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. The Owner reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of receipt of bids.
