The 1722 63rd Street Roadway Patching project shall generally consist of the following: Repairing the street utilizing methods of asphalt pavement patching and traffic control at 1722 63rd Street within the Village of Downers Grove. The Base Bid is approximately 160 square yards. Repairing the street utilizing methods of asphalt pavement patching and traffic control at 1722 63rd Street within the Village of Downers Grove. The Village Council reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive technicalities and to accept or reject any item of any Bid. No oral or telephone interpretations of specifications shall be binding upon the Village. All requests for interpretations or clarifications shall be made in writing and received by the Village at least five (5) business days prior to the date set for receipt of Bids or the pre-bid conference, if offered. The Village shall make all changes or interpretations of the Contract Documents in a written addendum and shall provide an addendum to any Bidder of record. Any and all changes to the Contract Documents are valid only if they are included by written addendum to all Bidders. Each Bidder must acknowledge receipt of any addenda by indicating same on the Bid Form. Each Bidder, by acknowledging receipt of any addenda, is responsible for the contents of the addenda and any changes to the Bid therein. Failure to acknowledge any addenda may cause the Bid to be rejected. The Village will not assume responsibility for receipt of any addenda. In all cases, it will be the Bidder's responsibility to obtain all addenda issued. Bidders will provide written acknowledgement of receipt of each addendum issued with the bid submission. Questions may be posed in writing to the Village (faxed and emailed questions are acceptable), but must be received by the Village prior to the scheduled time for the pre-bid conference. Questions received will be considered at the conference. An addendum may be issued as a result of the pre-bid conference. A bid deposit will be required, which shall not exceed ten percent (10%) of the estimated cost of the work to be furnished. Such bid deposit shall be in the form of a bid bond, certified check, cash or money order. Checks shall be drawn upon a bank of good standing payable to the order of the Village and said deposit shall be forfeited to the Village in the event the Bidder neglects or refuses to enter into a contract and bond when required, with approved sureties, to execute the Work or furnish the material for the price mentioned in his Bid and according to the plans and specifications in case the contract shall be awarded to him.
