Installation of underground irrigation services in Downtown Downers Grove. The Village Council reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, to waive technicalities and to accept or reject any item of any proposal. Proposer certifies that not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Village of Downers Grove, DuPage County or the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all laborers, workers and mechanics performing work for the Village of Downers Grove The installation of underground sprinkler systems at 13 locations within the Downtown area. Proposer to provide concept layout as part of the request for proposal. Work includes: - All permits, permit fees and related inspections. - Controllers, enclosures and control wire. - Fall winterization and spring start-up service. For one year after date of final acceptance. -Excavation and backfilling related to underground sprinkler system work. Including installing associated RPZ that meets backflow requirements and water meter to be placed in a meter box. (Village to provide water meter at no cost to contractor) - Install all plumbing and electrical work to comply with all local building code requirements. To include rain and soil sensor. - Testing of all mains, laterals, fittings, sprinkler heads, quick coupler valves, control valves and controllers. -Associated exterior plumbing and electrical work, including controller connections and accessories to complete the system. - Include a minimum of two (2) full business days to review the operation of the irrigation system with owners' representative once the system is 100% operational. - New sprinkler systems shall be equipped with a WaterSmart labeled irrigation controller and shall be compliance with section 2.5(g) of the Illinois Plumbing License Law [225 ILCS 320]. Note - existing 1-1/2" water services are currently available for use at the Area #1, Area #2 and Area #9 locations as shown on the attached map. These locations may be utilized to service the proposed irrigation systems if design requirements as detailed below can be met.
