As of July 30, 2024, project was awarded to HALCO Contractors with the awarded amount of $579,820. (Base bid $579,820 + $4,500 for Alternate 1 and $2,566 for Alternate 2.) Alexander County is accepting bid proposals for the Alexander County Housing our Teachers Project located at 16 W Main Ave, Taylorsville, NC 28681. Questions Due to Architect: June 12, 2024 by 5:00 PM Bid Selection/Approval: July 15th, 2024 Start Construction: August 1, 2024 SCOPE OF WORK Interior removal of non-original finishes & walls. Renovate first floor space for open retail space. Renovate second floor into (2) 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartments. Renovate basement for storage. All new plumbing, mechanical, electrical systems. New front storefront & doors, new rear windows, and new roof. Alexander County reserves the right to evaluate bids, and to reject any, and all bids for sound documented reasons.
