Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of an educational facility in Portland, Oregon. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.

Includes asbestos abatement to support renovation work in the Portland Campus Center. The Work contemplated under this Contract includes all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and services for, and incidental to, the completion of all construction work in connection with any Project described in the Contract Documents. The Contractor shall perform all Work necessary so that the Project can be legally occupied and fully used for the intended use as set forth in the Contract Documents. Site work is anticipated to begin during August of 2023. UO encourages bids from Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Businesses. The Owner reserves the right to reject all Bids and to waive minor informalities. 1 A Bidder in doubt as to the meaning of any part of the Project Manual may submit a written request for an interpretation to the Architect at any time prior to [10] calendar days prior to the Closing Date and Time The Scope of Work includes the following work to support a renovation project in the U of O Portland Campus Center building. Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and disposal necessary to access, remove, and dispose of all items included in the scope of work. Specific tasks included in the Scope of Work are described below: Residual Floor Tile Mastic Remove and dispose of all residual asbestos-containing floor tile mastic from the areas indicated on Figures 1 & 2. Residual floor tile mastic is present beneath non asbestos sheet vinyl flooring, carpets & mastic, floor tile, and leveling compound. Contractor shall remove and dispose of all overlying flooring layers to access concealed floor tile mastic. Overlying flooring layers shall be removed, handled, and disposed of as asbestos-containing materials. Demolish wall finishes as marked on the drawings and abate all concealed floor tile & mastic. Quantities are indicated below: Concealed beneath carpets & leveling compound 3,700 square feet Concealed beneath carpet and non-asbestos floor tile 120 square feet Concealed beneath non-asbestos sheet vinyl flooring 120 square feet Concealed beneath ceramic tile flooring 800 square feet Floor Tile & Mastic 3,500 square feet Remove and dispose of all asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic from the areas indicated on Figures 1 & 2. The material is present beneath non-asbestos carpets & mastic. Contractor shall remove and dispose of all overlying flooring layers to access concealed floor tile mastic. Overlying flooring layers shall be removed, handled, and disposed of as asbestos-containing materials. Demolish wall finishes as marked on the drawings and abate all concealed floor tile & mastic. Where walls to remain are installed over floor tile, cut or break floor tile even with the finished wall surface. Sheet Vinyl & Mastic 800 square feet Remove and dispose of all asbestos-containing sheet vinyl and mastic from the areas indicated on Figures 1 & 2. Mechanical Chase Clean Up Access the mechanical chase on the North side of room 201D and clean up all debris from within the chase. Debris is mixed with asbestos-containing floor tile & mastic and should be removed, handled, and disposed of as an asbestos-containing material. Access the chase through existing hatches only. Window Glazing Compound 8 window units Demolish and dispose of widows and frames from the areas noted on Figure 2. The window glazing contains asbestos. Mercury Vapor Light Tubes Contractor shall remove and dispose of all light tubes from fluorescent lighting in the building areas indicated on Figures 3 & 4. All light tubes are mercury-vapor containing. Contractor shall handle, package, and transport in strict accordance with all applicable regulations. Light Ballasts Contractor shall inspect all light ballast in all fluorescent light fixtures in the areas indicated on Figures 3 & 4. All computerized ballasts and all oil-filled ballasts clearly marked "No-PCB's" may be left for disposal by others. All other ballasts must be presumed to contain PCB's and disposed of accordingly.
