Renovation of a multi-residential development in Decatur, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
Although DHDC has attempted to identify all of the needs, the attached scope of work (listed on the bid form) regarding construction and repairs may or may not be all inclusive. Contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, tools, equipment, security, services, water, light, heat, power, transportation, and supervision necessary for the satisfactory performance to provide construction repairs to the (4) DHDC apartments at various locations in Decatur, AL. The Contractor will also be responsible warranting all workmanship for one year from date of completion. Decatur Housing Development Corporation (DHDC) is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to interested, qualified contractors to provide labor, materials, and equipment to repair various DHDC apartments located in Decatur, Alabama. Separate. Reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the IFB process, or to terminate the IFB process at any time, if deemed by the DHDC to be in its best interests. The bid bond or guarantee equivalate to 5% of the bid price shall be included in the bid package submitted by each bidder for any proposed fee that is greater than $50,000. This bond ensures that if awarded the contract, the bidder will accept and perform the work under the contract. The bidder agrees to provide DHDC with a satisfactory and will be submitted by the successful bidder prior to execution of payment and performance bond executed by the bidder and a corporate surety qualified to do business in Alabama, in an amount equal to, but not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount. The bond will be the original, certified copy of the contract. Performance Bond. The performance bond is meant to ensure that the contract is successfully completed. The performance bond guarantees that if the Contractor is unable to complete the contract, the surety company will step in to finish the work. In the case of a letter of credit or cash escrow, the DHDC may use these funds to complete the contract work. Payment Bond. Contractor will be licensed by the State Licensing Board of General Contractors of Alabama as required by Title 34-8-1 of the 1975 Code of Alabama. Contractor must submit proof of licensing with bid. Bidders not submitting license information with bid may be deemed nonresponsive. DHDC reserves the right to, as determined by the DHDC, “waive informalities and minor irregularities” in the offers received.
