Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation (AGI), Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) is seeking a Contractor to provide maintenance and servicing of the medium voltage installation at two water pump stations located in Alberta. Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch is responsible for operating and maintaining the water management infrastructure owned by the Government of Alberta. This infrastructure includes pump stations, pipelines, canals and control structures and includes the Deadfish Pump House System and the Buffalo Lake Pump House System. Government owned water management infrastructure consists primarily of earth and concrete structures. This infrastructure also includes electrical, mechanical and geotechnical components along with electro-mechanical and geotechnical instrumentation and SCADA monitoring and control systems. Regular maintenance must be performed on these systems, and WIOB personnel identify deficiencies with the major structures and the supporting sub-systems during regular inspection. All of the projects and systems indicated above include pump stations utilizing medium voltage electric motors. To ensure continuous function of this equipment regular maintenance is required and occasional technical servicing as well. In order for operations staff to ensure that deficiencies in the equipment are properly addressed WIOB must have access to the technical knowledge and competency for the medium voltage electrical equipment located at the various sites.
