Demolition, site work and renovation of a fire / police facility in Greenport, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for the renovation of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project includes selective demolition, alterations, fixtures finishes and related work as required to renovate two (2) existing bathrooms at the existing Greenport firehouse facility as indicated and detailed on the project drawings and specifications attached hereto. Refer to the attached drawings and specifications for a complete scope of work. Each Bid submitted with respect to this Contract must be accompanied by a non-collusion statement pursuant to Section 103 of the General Municipal Law. No Bid shall be considered by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Greenport that is submitted by any contractor, person or entity that is in arrears to the Village of Greenport, or that is in default as surety or otherwise upon any obligation to the Village of Greenport. No Bid will be considered that is submitted by any contractor, person or entity whose performance of any previous contract with the Village has been unsatisfactory in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, and any contractor, person or entity whose performance has been unsatisfactory shall not be deemed to be a responsible Bidder. The Village of Greenport reserves the right to reject any and all Bids received, to waive informalities and to increase, decrease, or omit any portions of the Contract Specifications. Subject to the foregoing, the Village of Greenport will award the Contract to the Bidder which in the opinion of the Board of Trustees is the lowest responsible Bidder qualified by past experience to satisfactorily perform the work required by the Contract and furnishing the required security. This project includes renovations at the existing Greenport Firehouse Facility located at 236 Third Street, Greenport, NY 11944 in accordance with the following scope of work and the bidding documents: o Selective demolition including any and all demolition work required to carry out the completion of the project without exception. All items to be removed may not be specifically referred to on the drawing's, however, if removal and or removal and replacement is required to complete the work said items will be removed and replaced as required at no additional cost. It is recommended that bidders visit the site and shall verify all conditions that will affect their work and include in their bid accordingly. No additional costs will be approved for items that are required to be completed to complete the project that are not included as part of the bid. o Alterations to existing plumbing waste lines and hot and cold water lines to accommodate new fixture locations. Cut and patch floor as required for new work. Note all plumbing waste alterations are to be completed from the first floor location due to limited access to plumbing lines in basement. o New ADA compliant doors and other doors (total of three) including new framed opening to accommodate new doors and frames. o Alterations to existing masonry wall to meeting room including new steel lintel (6" x4" x 3/8") to support existing masonry above. Both sides to have eased edge block and to be refinished to match existing wall surfaces. o New interior bathroom finishes including gyp board walls, ceilings, lay in ceilings, ceramic tile floor and wall finishes, toilet partitions and specialties, doors, hardware, vinyl wall cover and painting. o New plumbing fixtures. o New lighting and electrical work including all wiring, circuits switching, etc. connected to existing electric circuits and / or with new circuits to existing panel locations as required. 2. The work shall be awarded as one (1) contract for various portions of the work specified and shown on the drawings. Contractor shall refer to the drawings and specifications for each bid for complete scope of work. 3. The Owner will obtain the building permit for the overall construction of the project. 4. Owner will occupy the building throughout construction. Contractors shall schedule Every request for information or interpretations of the Contract Documents or Drawings must be addressed in writing to Jeanmarie Oddon, Deputy Village Clerk, Village of Greenport, 236 Third Street, Greenport, New York, 11944, or by e-mail to: jmoddon@greenportvillage.org and to be given any consideration, must be received at least five (5) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Any such interpretations or supplemental instructions will be in the form of written addenda, and will be mailed to all perspective bidders. The failure of any bidder to receive any such addenda will not relieve the bidders of any obligation under this bid as submitted. Any addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents.
