NIST is seeking Mechanical Contractor (HVAC/Plumbing/Sprinkler/Commissioning.The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) requires a contract for repairs, renovations, and alterations to facilities and utilities belonging to the (NIST) Gaithersburg, Maryland campus. This announcement is not a Request for Proposals (RFP) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available currently. The purpose of this source sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to provide the services stated herein. Based on capability statements received in response to this Sources Sought Announcement this acquisition may be solicited as a 100% small business set aside. All small business organizations (SB, SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, VOSB, and SDVOSB) are encouraged to respond to this notice. NIST is seeking information on qualified Small Businesses for a construction contract that can provide Construction Services under NAICS Code 236118. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) anticipates the following proposed contract action for soliciting interest in a Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC). The contract(s) will be awarded as firm-fixed-price Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contracts for repairs, renovations, and alterations to facilities and utilities belonging to the NIST campus, Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD 20899. This procurement will result in the award of one Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, awarded to multiple contractors. The task orders will be competed between contract holders with evaluation for the lowest price technically acceptable or best value trade-off. NIST is seeking a Mechanical Contractor with the following capacity and experience within their respective disciplines as listed below: 1. Work includes building and laboratory mechanical system construction, repairs, commissioning, and modification as well as installation of laboratory equipment and associated facility services. 2. The types of work that may be required (but are not limited to) of the contractor are as follows: Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing/Sprinkler/Commissioning) Install/repair/perform maintenance on air distribution, exhaust air, chilled, heating, and domestic water distribution, natural gas, refrigeration, steam and condensate systems, and manholes. To include sheet metal duct fabrication, fire damper installation, booster cooling and heating coils, and other air duct accessories. This may include repairing ice-making equipment, walk-in coolers, refrigerated water coolers, and split and ductless DX refrigeration systems. Complete HVAC unit or system new installation or replacement with controls in an occupied building. HVAC and Plumbing System commissioning or retro-commissioning. Typical maintenance activities may include adjusting/replacing belts and aligning sheaves, filter replacement, coil and casing cleaning, lubricating/replacing bearings and seals inspecting/lubricating damper operators, inspecting/replacing gages or sight glasses, inspecting/re-pack/replacing valves, inspect/clean drains, pump replacement, and inspect/adjust/repair control systems for proper operation.
