Site work and renovation of a transportation facility in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.

The Project generally consists of the design and construction of Train Station internal and external renovations; which include, and may not be limited to, renovations to the historic station, westbound and eastbound platforms, transfer pedestrian passage, tunnel beneath the tracks, site work and landscaping, new waiting areas, entrance signage, trainway equipment, building equipment, vertical circulation elements, and other site related elements required to facilitate NJ TRANSIT public Transportation along the North East Corridor (NEC). NJ TRANSIT and the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (AMTRAK) currently provide rail service to and from the Station. MCIA intends to award the project (Phases 1, 2, 3 & 4) in phases. However, the MCIA reserves the right to authorize the phases and/or tasks of each phase of the Scope of Professional Services as it deems in its best interest. Monies allocated for tasks not authorized will be credited to the MCIA and the Consultants fee shall be reduced accordingly. As a result of this RFP, MCIA will enter into Contracts for the Project in a Phased Manner. The Consultant shall adhere to the following Design Schedule: Phase 1 Conceptual Engineering - 10% - 2 Months from NTP for Phase 1 Phase 2 Preliminary Engineering - 30% -12 Months from NTP for Phase 2 (supports environmental approvals) Phase 3 Final Engineering - 30% - 100% 12 Months from NTP for Phase 3 (includes Bid Phase Serv ices) Phase 4 Construction Assistance Services - TBD The durations are for Consultant Design and do not include MCIA, County, NJ TRANSIT, Amtrak or NJDEP or other Agency Review Time. All firms submitting Proposals (Proposers) for this project must have related experience of a similar magnitude, working with NJ Transit and AMTRAK. MCIA is requesting Proposals from firms with the intention of awarding a Contract to the organization(s) whose qualifications and Proposal meets all the prerequisites as listed in the evaluation criteria.
