City of Uvalde is seeking a qualified engineer or engineering firm to conduct and prepare a Master Water Plan The Master Water Plan will be broken down into tasks. These generally constitute the following: Compile the current water supply source(s) capacity and future needs of water, to develop the basis for a water acquisition planning framework. Compile background information regarding the existing system, its operation, and its condition to develop the basis for the planning framework. Coordinate with City personnel to develop water demand projections. Develop water demand projections through build-out. Document the City's water resource portfolio, including quality, and develop a supply/demand balance. Create a working water model (developed in Water CAD, or equal) of the City's existing water system. Utilize the water model to evaluate the condition/capacity/performance of the existing system and document suggested improvements (in order of priority) to the system's infrastructure (including locations, lengths, sizes, and cost estimates, etc.) that are necessary to bring the system into compliance with regard to current demands (Public Drinking Water and Fire Protection). Utilize the water model to evaluate the system for projected demands and document suggested improvements (in order of priority) to the system's infrastructure (including locations, lengths, sizes, cost estimates, etc.) that are required to accommodate future demands. Identify potential locations, sizes, and costs for elevated storage tanks. Identify projects, schedules, and estimated costs to be included in the City's Capital Improvement Plan. Identify potential developer-driven initiatives for City review and consideration. Prepare and Complete a Master Water Plan report.
