Ingham County (County) seeks proposals from qualified and experienced vendors for the purpose of designing and constructing a new grandstand at the Ingham County Fairgrounds in Mason, Michigan. Ingham County received $2.5 million in federal funding for a new grandstand from a bill sponsored by U.S. Representative for Michigan's 7th District Elissa Slotkin. The new grandstand will be used to host patrons of the annual fair (this year July 31 through August 5), horse shows, rodeos, motor sports and other events. Construction is anticipated to start in 2025. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Guarantee shall be in the form of a bid bond executed by an approved surety company, made payable to the County of Ingham. Bid guarantee shall run for a period of not less than ninety (90) days. If the successful proposer fails to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) business days after receipt of Notice of Award, such guarantee shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. Any explanation desired by a Proposer regarding the meaning or interpretation of this RFP and attachments must be requested only to the Ingham County Purchasing Department, at questions@ingham.org. The deadline for submitting final questions is no later than 3:00 P.M. on July 24, 2023. If an addendum is required, it will be issued after this date.
