Question Submission Deadline: July 20, 2023, 1:00 pm Question Response Deadline: July 24, 2023, 1:00 pm Contractor to provide mold and asbestos remediation for the Cubberley Gyms A & B per the specifications in Part 8 of the IFB. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, material, tools, equipment, and services necessary for mold and asbestos remediation in the crawl space of Gyms A & B located at the Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Road, in Palo Alto, California. The project includes but is not limited to the following: Comply with all Federal, State, and local requirements for mold and asbestos remediation. Setup perimeter asbestos monitoring prior to the start of work and for the duration of the work. Remove and properly discard approximately 225' of 2" and 3" thermal system insulation wrapped pipe. Remove and properly discard approximately 575' of 1-1/4" thermal system insulation wrapped pipe. The piping that is to be removed may have residual water inside. Remove this water and cleanup any water that ends up on the floor. Surface clean and disinfect wood joist where visible mold growth is present. Area is approximately 3000 sqft. Encapsulate cleaned areas with product such as Concrobium Mold Control or approved equal. Clean all debris off the concrete floor and then HEPA vacuum concrete flooring. Remove, transport and properly dispose of all hazardous waste in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations. Cleanup is to occur daily. Bid Security.: For all bids in excess of $25,000, Bid security in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate amount of the Bid, including all Bid Alternates, is required. Bid security shall be submitted as either surety bond substantially in the form attached to this IFB, or delivered separately on or before the Bid due date in the form of a certified check or cashiers check with reference to this Bid number and project name. The Bid Security of Bidders who do not qualify as the lowest responsible bidder shall be returned to such Bidders no later than sixty (60) days from the date of award of contract unless extended by written agreement.
