Old Stone's Bridge Stabilization The work under this contract is on the historic bridge extending out from Old Stonebridge Road over the Sudbury River, approximately 0.3 miles west of the intersection with Stonebridge Road (ST 27). The work generally consists of restoration activities including installing temporary shoring and bracing systems, removal of groundcover and soil from the top of arches and upper spandrel walls, removal of shifted parapet courses, selectively wedge and chink dry laid stones where needed, dismantling shifted lower portions of spandrel walls and excavating retained soil, reconstructing walls and replacing backfill on top of a new filter fabric and interweaving geogrid material in between layers, providing final landscaping, plantings, and fencing, and other related work.
