It is the intent of the College of Lake County (CLC) to enter into an Agreement with a Contractor to perform needed EFIS (Exterior Facade and Insulation work) for our Lakeshore Campus Building and Advanced Technology Center as identified herein. Questions are required no later than 4:00 P.M. CST on July 31, 2023. In the event that the Contractor fails to complete the work as requested within the time period identified and according to the specification herein, the College reserves the right to impose liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 a day. The facilities Director or his designee may deduct liquidated damages from the Contractor's invoice for every delinquent calendar day that exceeds the time identified and that the contractor did not receive prior written approval. This amount shall be retained as Liquidated Damages and not as a penalty. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check made payable to the College of Lake County for not less than ten percent (10%) of the proposal amount. A performance bond satisfactory to the College, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the purchase order issued by the College as security for the faithful performance of the College's contract; and A payment bond satisfactory to the College, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and materials to the Contractor or Subcontractors for the performance of work provided for in the contract, in an amount equal to 100 percent (100%) of the purchase order issued by the College.
