Renovation of a parking garage in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
Reference Number 0000326158 qualified Contractors to furnish all materials and labor as necessary for the construction of the Sahwatch Parking Garage Elevator Vestibule for El Paso County Facilities and Strategic Infrastructure Management. Work is anticipated to be completed between November 1, 2023 and January 31, 2024. It is expected that the business and their team members will have significant experience with this type of project. It is expected that the individuals overseeing and managing this project are licensed professionals. The successful Contractor shall be considered and shall remain an independent contractor throughout the term of any contract awarded pursuant to this Solicitation. El Paso County is currently completing a modernization of the Sahwatch Parking Garage Elevator. Part of the modernization involves changing the elevator to a traction system that does not require a machine room. This will put the new equipment at the bottom of the elevator shaft. The contractor is unable to provide NEMA-3 weatherproof equipment. Due to this, Pikes Peak Regional Building Department is requiring a vestibule be added to the main level exterior entrance to the elevator to keep rain, snow, and mud from entering the elevator and damaging the equipment.
