Reference Number 0000326040 qualified Contractors to furnish all materials and labor as necessary for forestry management services at Stratmoor Valley and Maxwell properties for the El Paso County Parks and Recreation Department. Work is anticipated to start as soon as possible (month of September, weather and contractor availability permitting), with a preferred forestry work completion date of December 1, 2023. The Contractor shall return to the work site the following year and complete chemical treatments of undesirable fauna by June 30, 2024. Stratmoor Valley and Maxwell Properties is a roughly thirty-six (36) acre area consisting of Siberian elms, cottonwoods, choke cherry, and native grasses. Black locusts, salt cedar, green ash, and Russian olive are also present. Areas such as this location are susceptible to high intensity wildfires and require periodic forestry maintenance to mitigate wildfire risk.
