Demolition and site work for a civil project in Tahsis, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the demolition of a water / sewer project.
The Village of Tahsis is initiating a pre-qualification process to establish a select list of qualified General Contractors and Major Subcontractors for the demolition of an existing structure and construction of new Marine Facilities in Tahsis, BC, located on Vancouver Island. This request aims to identify experienced and capable contractors to undertake the project. The general scope of work includes: 1. Structural, Geotechnical and Civil: a. Demolition of Existing Boat Launch Panels, Timber Pier Structure, Timber piles, Steel Gangway and Timber Float. b. Construction of new Boat Ramp (includes Regrading of boat launch), Lock-block Abutment, Steel piles, and installation of shoreline protection. c. Design and Construction of Aluminium Pedestrian Access Walkways and gangways, Composite Aluminum Floats, and Concrete Breakwater Float. 2. Site Servicing Construction a. Water service installation, connection to existing water utility, connection to docksiders on the mooring float b. Electrical service installation Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca TIMELINE: RFQ for contractors has closed; three (3) firms have prequalified. Stage II invitational tender timeline to the prequalified firms may be issued late September / early October 2023. Construction is scheduled to begin spring / summer 2024 with a fall 2024 completion.
