As of October 17, 2023, an architect has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified consultant to provide architectural services for the construction of an asphalt bookmobile lot, restrooms, a garage to house a bookmobile and installation of security cameras. Services may include design and possible construction administration and inspection. The project is located at 6620 W. Lower Buckeye Rd. Phoenix AZ 85043. The estimated construction cost is $500,000. This project will utilize federal funds and is subject to the requirements of Federal Regulations under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Participation in the Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE) Program is encouraged. This project will expand the footprint of College Depot on the 2nd floor of the Burton Barr Central Library. College Depot has an existing footprint of approximately 10,800 square feet, which will expand by roughly 1,080 square feet upon completion of this project.
