The work consists of the construction of approximately 72,000 square feet of additions to Hillsboro High School, constructed in two distinct additions; classroom addition between existing buildings and gymnasium addition to the south of the existing gymnasium. Building construction consists of concrete footings / foundations and concrete slabs on grade / elevated slabs. The structure of the buildings consists of load bearing masonry and steel frame. Interior finishes include stained concrete slabs, vinyl tile and carpet tile flooring; masonry and metal stud / gypsum board partitions; and suspended gypsum board and acoustical panel ceilings. Roofing consists of membrane roofing and standing seam metal roofing over steel decking over steel structure. Exterior finishes include brick, metal siding and limited exterior insulation finish system. Fire protection, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecommunication and fire alarm work is commensurate with the scope. Site work and utility work is commensurate with the scope and includes asphalt parking lots, concrete sidewalks, and various improvements to existing surfaces. Demolition of the existing gymnasium lobby is included, and the work is to be completed early in the project. Demolition of the existing concessions building, and Main Building is included in the work and is to be completed near the end of the project. ALTERNATE BID #1: Provide and install telescoping gymnasium bleachers as indicated on Drawings and specified herein. Provide and install locker room lockers and benches as indicated on Drawings and specified herein. Note that corridor lockers are a part of the base bid. ALTERNATE BID #2: Provide and install plastic laminate casework and countertops in standard classrooms as indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. Note that additional plastic laminate casework and countertops are a part of the base bid. Provide and install fixed lecture hall seating as indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. ALTERNATE BID #3: Demolish and infill existing louvers through exterior wall & provide and install horizontal metal wall panels as indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. Note additional horizontal metal wall panels are a part of the base bid. Replace base bid exposed fastener vertical metal wall panels with concealed fastener vertical metal wall panels as indicated on Drawings and specified herein. Note additional concealed fastener vertical metal wall panels are a part of the base bid. The successful bidder shall enter into the Project Labor Agreement (Section 00 52 15 of the Contract Documents) with the Southwestern Illinois Building Trades Council (SIBTC) and their affiliated local craft unions, for all work as included within these drawings and specifications as a condition of being awarded a contract resulting from this solicitation. Any levels of Subcontractors shall enter into the same Project Labor Agreement. The Owner requires the new building construction, access to new building construction and interior renovation work to be substantially complete by April 11, 2025. The Owner requires the demolition of the existing Main Building and final site work to be substantially complete by September 26, 2025. See Drawings for other suggested phasing information. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security of a sum no less than 10 percent of the Bid Sum. The bid security shall be either certified check, cashier's check, bank money order or bid bond issued by surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Illinois. Your Bid will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after submission.
