Site work for a civil project in Smoky Lake, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Town owns and operates a regional potable water fill system from the Highway 28/63 Regional Water Commission Supply System housed in a building, and a 1,360 m3 capacity partially buried concrete reservoir that stores water for residents and businesses in the Town. The treated water storage reservoir, located at NW 16-59-17-W4M, is 55 years old and is at its end-of-life expectancy, and is experiencing leakage through its walls. In addition, the existing reservoir capacity does not meet the requirements to provide the Town adequate fire flow protection. A new 2,000 m3 above ground potable water storage tank is proposed to meet the Town's future potable water requirements.
