Proposals Shall Be Enclosed in a Sealed Envelope Plainly Marked on the Outside "ev Charging Stations". If Proposal is Mailed, the Original Envelope Shall Be Enclosed in a Separate Envelope Addressed to the City Clerk, Also Plainly Marked on the Outside as Stated Above. The Apparent Low Proposal Will Then Be Presented to the Independence City Commission at a Future Meeting for Their Formal Action. The City Reserves the Right to Accept or Reject Any or All Proposals or to Waive Any Irregularities Should Any Occur as May Best Benefit the City. The City Manager May Require That No Proposer May Withdraw a Proposal for a Period of Up to Forty-five (45) Days After the Date and Hour Set for Opening Proposals, but That a Proposal May Be Withdrawn Up to Twenty-four (24) Hours Prior to Expiration of the Deadline for Submitted Proposals. The Purpose of This Request for Proposal (Rfp) is to Solicit Proposals From Qualified Electric Vehicle (Ev) Charging Station Contractors for the Design, Engineering, and Installation of Two Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. Stations Are to Be Located at a City-owned Parking Lot at the Northeast Corner of 6th St. And Laurel St, in Independence, Kansas. The Goal of This Project is to Increase Business Activity on Independence's Main Street by Providing Accessible Ev Charging Options. Equipment Requirements: Stations Should Be Level 2 or Level 3 Fast Chargers, Focusing on Level 2 Chargers, Which is the Most Likely Item to Be Selected. Contractors Should Provide Cost Estimates for Both Options, if Applicable. Stations Should Incorporate Security Design Elements Such as Tamper-resistant Screws, Anti-vandalism Hardware, Locked Enclosures, and Graffiti-resistant Coating. Equipment Should Be Able to Withstand Varying Temperatures and Weather Conditions. Equipment Display Screens Should Be User-friendly, Easy to Operate, and Readable Both in Direct Sunlight and at Night. Equipment Must Comply With the Americans With Disabilities Act Requirements, Nec Article 625, lec 61851, and All Applicable State or Local Codes. Submissions Must Include Two (2) Hard Copies and One (1) Electronic Pdf Copy of the Proposal by 2:00 P.m. Cst on September 6, 2023.
