Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Chatfield, Manitoba. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.

The existing bridge over Broad Valley Drain on PTH 17 (Site No. 3243-00) was constructed in 1962. The two span structure is 20.4m long, 8.9m wide and is comprised of a timber laminated deck with an asphalt wearing surface supported by timber stringers on timber abutments founded on timber piles and a center concrete pier founded on a spread footing. MTI's latest level 2 inspection report from 2021 identified continuing deterioration of the timber components and movements in the foundation. Due to its age and condition, a replacement structure is required. TIMELINE: An RFP for engineering services to complete preliminary design has closed. The owner will not be releasing the award information.
