Notice to Firms The City of McHenry is requesting proposals for professional engineering services for the Bull Valley Road Bridge - Phase I Engineering Project. The included Preliminary Scope of Services provides anticipated items which may be required to perform all necessary engineering work associated with this project. The Bull Valley Road Bridge - Phase I Engineering is to be constructed in accordance with IDOT standards for STP Funding. The City intends to begin work immediately upon execution of the contract with the selected firm. It is the intent of the City to complete the Phase I Engineering and obtain IDOT approval by June 2025. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of McHenry intends on reconstructing the Bull Valley Road Bridge over Boone Creek. The anticipated scope of work includes new abutments, approach slabs, railings to accommodate 2-12' drive lanes and a 10-ft wide non-motorized widening for connection to a future path. The project is generally located 1,000ft east of the Curran Road/Bull Valley Road intersection. The project and scope of work is based off the existing bridge report. ANTICIPATED SCOPE OF SERVICES The professional design services are to be determined during the contract negotiation phase of the selection process.
