The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) Parks and Recreation Division (PRD) is requesting professional architectural and engineering services for the study (Phases 100, 300 and 500) for the following scope items at the Menominee River Recreation Area Review existing aggregate parking lot for compliance with the 2010 Department of Justice's Standards for Accessibility and/or the United States Access Board's Standards for Outdoor Developed Areas. Ensure the proper # of parking spaces are provided with the proper cross slopes, surfacing, and signing. The parking lot is proposed to remain gravel, therefore ADA accessibility within a gravel parking lot is the expected standards. Review existing aggregate accessible route the primary public support features (vault toilet, informational kiosk, trash receptacle, picnic table, and trail head for compliance with the 2010 Department of Justice's Standards for Accessibility and/or the United States Access Board's Standards for Outdoor Developed Areas. Perform a topographic survey to ensure that ADA compliant cross slopes and running slopes are met. Evaluate aggregate surfacing and compare to ADA standards for acceptable surfacing. Perform site survey to determine if any alterations are required to improve ADA accessibility, that known site constraints or site features, are considered.
