General Requirements - Contractors License Required - Installation Required - Insurance Required - License Required - Warranty Information Required *FCCS reserves the right to waive minor irregularities or omissions in the bid. If the bid is for more than one item, prices shall be quoted on the units requested. Franklin County Children Services (FCCS) seeks to partner with a qualified contractor to install a perimeter fence and gates at the FCCS building located at 855 W. Mound St., Columbus, OH 43223. Specifications are listed below. Attachment 4 contains the site drawing for fence and gate locations. o Installation of approximately 1,841 feet of 6-foot tall black metal ornamental fencing (similar to EFF-20) around perimeter of the 855 W. Mound St. property (field verification of fence quantities during project site walk is strongly recommended) o Installation of two (2)slide gates at or near both existing curb cuts on the east and westside of the property (see Attachment 4). Staff should be able to access the secure parking area with existing building access card. o Installation of two (2) pedestrian gates with self-closing lockable latches (see Attachment 4). Staff should be able to the pedestrian gates with existing building access card. o If fence sections are screwed or bolted together, contractor must use either high security screw or bolt heads or peen the ends of the bolts to eliminate the removal of bolts and nuts. o Contractor shall research and be responsible for obtaining and payment of all regulatory, permitting, and licensing requirements. o Contractor isresponsible for obtaining and payment for a permit for the fence installation. o Contractor shall conform to all applicable construction codes, ordinances, and regulations including the national building code used in the local are, laws and local ordinances. All work shall conform to the current regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). o It is highly recommended that prospective bidders attend the pre-bid meeting and site walk through to become thoroughly familiar with all pertinent conditions included in this Scope of Service (pre-bid meeting time is on BidNet). Prospective bidders must take such steps as may be necessary to ascertain the nature and condition of the work, and the general and local condition which can affect the work or cost thereof. Failure to do so shall not relieve biddersfrom the responsibility for estimating properly the difficulty or cost of successfully performing the work. o Any proposed interruption to facility operations during construction must have prior approval from the Director of Facilities or designee with a minimum of 24-hours' notice. o All materials, finishes and hardware shall be selected for their ease of maintenance, high durability, and local availability. o Contractor shall maintain a clean and safe work area throughout the period of construction. The contractor shall, at the end of each workday, remove all demolition debris and hazardous and potentially dangerous materials used in the work. The contractor shall collect construction material and debris frequently and dispose of debris and refuse away from the work site in a lawful manner. The contract shall be responsible for all fees, permits, etc. required for waste disposal. o The contractor shall be responsible for receiving, storing, and securing of all materials, equipment and other items to be used in accomplishing the work. The contractor shall be responsible for all equipment and materials brought onto the site and shall replace damaged or stolen items at its expense. o The contractor will coordinate with the FCCS Facilities Department for locations of staging areas, and vehicle parking. Electricity will be made available by FCCS. Connections to existing power shall be by the contractor. Following completion, the contractor shall return the site conditions to the original state.
