NE Beaverbrooke Boulevard and Iowa 141 Intersection Improvements 1221329 Est. Value: $ 1,571,535.00 The NE Beaverbrooke Boulevard and IA 141 project includes intersection improvements to provide an east leg to the intersection. The project includes a northbound right turn lane, a southbound dual left turn lane, a northbound dual left turn lane extension, and new traffic signals. The project also consists of earthwork, storm sewer, sidewalk pavement, signing, pavement markings, traffic control, erosion control, and final surface restoration. The Contractor shall substantially complete the overall project within seventy five (75) working days. Substantial completion for the overall project shall be defined as all utility, grading, pavement, and traffic signal construction completed, with the streets and sidewalks fully open to traffic. Should the Contractor fail to substantially complete the work within this timeframe, liquidated damages of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not substantially completed within the designated Contract term(s). Should the Contractor choose to commence construction in the fall of 2023, working days will be suspended over the winter months. Suspension of working days will begin after the project site has been successfully winterized, all lanes are open to traffic, and approved by the City. Should the Contractor complete all construction work except for the traffic signals and any work associated to the traffic signals due to the long lead times, suspension of working days will be allowed. The Contractor shall fully complete the overall project within ten (10) working days of the substantial completion. Full completion for the overall project shall be defined as all surface restoration and all improvements ready for final acceptance. Should the Contractor fail to fully complete the work within this timeframe, liquidated damages of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per calendar day will be assessed for work not fully completed within the designated Contract term(s).
