Site work for a water / sewer project in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Rt. 11 north/Smith Creek area of Rockingham County is served by a single water main along Kratzer Road. There is no secondary feed into this area so this project would provide water in case of any break or other interruption in the Kratzer Road line. An evaluation was performed by Wiley/Wilson that identified another connection point with the City. There has also been discussion on concerns of low available fire flow in this area. This project could potentially address this issue as well but an additional evaluation will be needed. The project is included in the County's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of February 10, 2025, per owner, not started yet, no schedule for construction. Design team not yet identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
