Renovation of a medical facility in Madeira Park, British Columbia. Design plans call for the renovation of a 5,200-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility.

BCEHS is moving to a new leased space at 12841 Madeira Park, a 2.68 Acres lot with an existing approx. 5,200sqft one storey building. This space will require interior renovations to meet BCEHS standards and program requirements. BCEHS has identified the following requirements for this new space: Vehicle bay for 2 ambulances and a CP vehicle indoors; Exterior parking spaces for up to an additional 4 ambulances; 4 bedrooms; 2 offices; Training space and support spaces. The project scope is to renovate the interior of the existing building to accommodate the needs of BCEHS for an ambulance station. Some modifications to building envelope to accommodate doors and windows. No additions are required. No major seismic issues have been identified, Electrical service to the site appears to be adequate for the intended use and infrastructure upgrades to the mechanical system are recommended. IT infrastructure will be required. Exterior improvements are required to accommodate parking of up to an additional 4 ambulances. TIMELINE: Request for Proposal to provide professional architectural consulting services for the project has closed and a preferred proponent has been chosen. Tentative timelines: Tender & Award - May 2024. Further update in early spring 2024.
