The first AOP structure is planned for the Skilak Lake Road crossing of Jean Creek (60.483648, -150.116302). The second AOP structure is proposed on the Upper Skilak Lake Road crossing of the Lower Ohmer Creek (60.455489, -150.310281). The third AOP structure is proposed for the Upper Skilak Lake Road crossing of an unnamed creek (60.441910, -150.317851) between Lower Ohmer Lake and the Kenai River/Skilak Lake. Both Skilak Lake Road and Upper Skilak Lake Road are located on the State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (AKDOT&PF) Right-of-Way (ROW). The scope of work also includes road profile grade raises, where necessary, to install the AOP pipes. The Skilak Lake Road begins at the intersection with the Sterling Highway near MP 58. The first AOP culvert occurs at Jean Creek which is located 0.25 miles in along the Skilak Lake Road. The Lower Ohmer Creek AOP is located along the Upper Skilak Lake Road, which intersects with the Skilak Lake Road at approximate milepost 8.2. The final AOP culvert occurs over an unnamed creek and is also located along the Upper Skilak Lake Road at approximate milepost 1.6. Both the Skilak Lake Road and Upper Skilak Lake Road are low-volume, gravel-surfaced facilities used predominately by locals and ors for recreation. Construction is anticipated to take 1 construction season, weather dependent, and is currently scheduled for 2024 construction.
