GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: In general, the Work of the Project can be described as the replacement of the Powdered Activated Carbon System at the South Rivanna Water Treatment Plant. Major components of the work include Selective demolition Site preparation Process piping Electrical Mechanical The foregoing descriptions shall not be construed as a complete description of all work required. Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. No Bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date of Bid Opening The Owner will therefore, not consider any Bid unless the Bidder provider produces evidence that they are duly licensed and registered in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Virginia. Bidders must be authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Bid for failure to comply with all requirements of this Notice or of any of the Contract Documents; however, it may waive any minor defects or informalities at its discretion. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to Award the contract which in its judgment is in the best interest of the Owner An optional site visit will be conducted immediately following the Pre-Bid conference on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Site visits are recommended but are not mandatory. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 11:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 virtually and onsite at the South Rivanna WTP. Bidders are encouraged to participate in the conference.
