Each bid must be accompanied by certified check of the bidder, or a bid bond prepared on the form of bid bond attached hereto, duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Town, in the amount of 10% of bid amount. Such checks or bid bonds will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within five days after the opening of bids, and the remaining checks, or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Town and the accepted bidder have executed the contract, or, if no award has been made within 30 days after the date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter, so long as he has not been notified of the acceptance of his bid. Successful bidder shall furnish payment, performance and maintenance bonds in such form as may be approved by the Town Board in the amount of not less than one hundred per centum (100%) of the total amount of the accepted proposal. Question Deadline 09/15/2023 at 5:00 PM ET The date of this bond shall be the same as the contract, and it shall continue in force until the work is completed, approved, and accepted. The performance bond shall include a maintenance bond to remain in effect for two years from the date of final acceptance. The maintenance bond shall be in the same amount as the performance bond. The bond shall cover possible expense in repairs, or changes, or other contingencies that may arise due to faulty material or installation.
