Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Avon, Colorado. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The Avon Skate Coalition ("ASC") and Town of Avon (Avon) are seeking a professional firm ("Firm") to collaborate in the design of a conceptual and schematic design for a new skate park and plaza at Nottingham Park in Avon, Colorado. The Plaza is intended to be an iconic multi-use space with creative urban design elements and features that cater to skateboarding and similar wheeled-sport activities, while advancing additional park-related functions and place-making opportunities in and around the Plaza and the transition into Nottingham Park. Questions due: Wednesday, August 30. Answers back Friday, September 1. The Town of Avon ("Town") has committed a site ("Site") in its largest public park, Harry A. Nottingham Park, to include a multi-use public plaza with features designed for skateboarding and similar activities (inline-skating, scooter-riding, etc.). The park-plaza concept expands upon a traditional skate park design, that might include large ramps, bowls and embankments, and thoughtfully blends multi-use community space and passive/transition recreation areas with skateboarding features. The Site was previously the location of Avon's Town Hall building at 1 Lake Street and is commonly referred to as the "Old Town Hall Site." The Site is located at the south-eastern corner of the Harry A. Nottingham Park ("Park"). The closest intersection is Lake Street and West Benchmark Road. The entire park, a roughly 47-acre parcel zoned as Park, is largely considered the focal point of the Town of Avon. Outline of services and deliverables requested in coordination with Zehren and Associates and under the direction of the ASC and Town: 1. Conceptual Design Options for the multi-use skate park and plaza. 2. Schematic Design Plan for the multi-use skate park and plaza. 3. Opinion of Probable Costs / Cost Estimate for the Schematic Design for the skate park and plaza. 4. Analysis and recommendations to approach the project construction. Note: All deliverables must be designed and provided to the Town so that Town Staff will own and can edit all materials following the conclusion of the concept planning process. Deliverables should be provided in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as GIS and CAD formats.
