The proposed contract requires the mechanical brushing of +/- 95.4 km's of BCTS designated Forest Service roads by the use of: Wheeled or tracked equipment with the appropriate brushing heads to remove light to heavy brush, heavy timber and/or snags or blowdown from the road right- of- way. Pruning of branches that protrude into the running surface up to a height of 6m may be required. Felling of timber may be required, if machine(s) cannot mulch heavy timber, therefore a mulching head will be required. The contract start date will be M/D, 2023 in order to facilitate the brushing of the Tsedeka, Trapper Creek, FINL 37000/37100, FINL 24000, Hugh Allen, CHUC 20000/20100/CHUC. This contract will involve the brushing of approximately 49 km's of BCTS FSR's; this also involves ensuring that all drainage structures are left in a functional manner and free of woody debris. As per the Special Tree Protection Regulation of the Forest Range and Practices Act, if a contractor becomes aware of a specified tree within or adjacent to the defined work area (i.e. within 56 metres of the defined work area) that was not identified in the contract documents, the contractor should stop work in the vicinity of the specified tree and immediately notify the Ministry Representative. Deadline for receiving questions is 4:30 pm on September 11, 2023. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to electronically by September 12, 2023.
