TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals from Civil Engineering services has been issued by the owner. A Request for Qualifications was issued fall 2023 and has closed. The civil engineer has been awarded for design of rehabilitation of Kipling Avenue Bridge over the Gardiner Expressway, contract Duration will be from 2024 to 2026. Engineers to provide Detailed condition assessment, preliminary design and detailed design for the rehabilitation of the Kipling Avenue and Islington Avenue structures over the Gardiner Expressway (Bridge IDs 229 and 272). Future Requests For Proposals will be issued late 2024. Coordination of the traffic management and construction staging plans for the rehabilitation of the Kipling Avenue and Islington Avenue structures with the rehabilitation of three (3) additional bridges being designed by others: Gardiner Expressway over Mimico Creek; Gardiner Expressway over Park Lawn Road; and Gardiner Expressway Westbound On-Ramp over Mimico Creek (Bridge IDs 416, 417, and 423).
