Description of Work: This project includes approximately 1.2 acres of vegetation clearing and buckthorn removal, planting of 4 trees and 23 shrubs, railroad permitting (right of entry), and all associated work. All work shall be in accordance with the Contract Documents including plans and specifications. The as-read bid tabulation will be published through QuestCDN after the bids have been opened. Each bid and proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Village of Green Oaks, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid price as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proposed contract within fifteen (15) days after the award of the contract. In case the successful bidder shall fail to execute such contract and bond, the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Village as liquidated damages. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. Bids and proposals must be sealed and addressed to the Village of Green Oaks and there shall appear on the envelope of such bid and proposal the name and address of the bidder and the purpose for which the proposal is intended. The Village of Green Oaks reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any defects or informalities in bids received and to accept the bid most advantageous to the Village. All work performed under this contract shall be in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, including but not limited to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and the Illinois Employee Classification Act. This project is subject to the requirements of the wage determination of the Secretary of Labor. The Village of Green Oaks, in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on grounds of race, color, or national origin.
