Amelia WMA Amelia Lake dam Kennons Lane Amelia Court House, VA 23002 (37.4716, -77.9203) Saunders Lake dam Kennons Lane Amelia Court House, VA 23002 (37.4624, -77.9075) The period of performance shall run from October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024. Contractor shall provide mowing and trimming services which include clearing vegetation from spillways, rip-rap below and around the spillways, rip-rap on front of the dams, around the overflow outlet pipes and structures, and litter pickup prior to mowing. Cutting shall continue all the way to white mow markers if present. Herbicide application can only be conducted by or under the supervision of a certified herbicide applicator and under herbicide label directions. Only herbicides approved for use around water bodies shall be used and if the treatment was not effective the contractor may be required to retreat vegetation. Mowing should occur only when dam soils are dry; the contractor is responsible for repairing any trenching, soil/structural damage, and any other damage created by machines. There will be two mowing services per year for each dam.
